  1. Tiffani,

Great overall video. I completely agree with you on the physicality of writing papers or conducting assignments based on students conducting the research.
Using projects to assess student knowledge and understanding is also a great way to assess the students.
Standardized tests can be a pain, as they are not designed to meet the needs of every child. Personally, I did not do well on standardized tests and did not receive as much financial aid and scholarships because of the limitations on classroom assessments.

You are doing a wonderful job! Great research on your sources!

  2. Tfani A very complete presentation. One of the tools I have always used is the portfolio method. E-portfolios are an awesome way for the student to showcase what they have mastered as well as giving the teacher an opportunity to provide feedback and to adjust instruction based on the student's needs (McLuckie & Wesel, 2010)

  3. Thank you for your incite this week Tiffani. I appreciated your views on assessment and how you see them being utilized. Your “mix it up and make it effective” catchphrase could be the title of a book when it comes to assessment. As educators, our primary responsibility should be to find the most appropriate and accurate assessment for each student and recognize how varying assessments for subjects as well as students will give us a more accurate understanding. It is when we fall into a pattern of doing the same thing year in and year out only because it worked previously, do we fail to take into account the changing needs of students. We should not treat every student the same, nor should we treat every topic or concept being assessed the same especially considering the online model. Mix it up and make it effective.
